Do’s
Don’ts
Acrylic baths or shower trays, plastic bath panels
Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale. Use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Fix dripping taps - this stops stain and limescale build up.
Never leave soap/shampoo pools - these can cause permanent stains.
Do not use any cleaner that contains bleach, perfume and/or colourants.
Minor scratches and abrasions can be polished out with a mild polishing compound. Products with matt finishing are not repairable. In case of damage to the surface, please call the After Sales team for an appropriate evaluation.
Never let cigarettes/flames near - plastics can burn and melt.
Solid Surface baths and shower trays
Never use household chemicals - a range of products such as paint stripper, nail varnish remover, household bleach, perfume, aftershave or strong disinfectant can damage plastics
Steel baths
Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale.
Use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Never use any bathroom limescale remover/mousse or any acidic or alkali cleaner unless it has been specifically recommended in the bath instructions as suitable for steel baths.
Do not use any cleaner that contains bleach, perfume and/or colourants.
As a manufacturer, we do not recommend the use of any scouring products or cream cleaners.

Vitreous China
Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale. Occasional use of bleach to remove stubborn stains is acceptable. Use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Occasional use of mild bathroom limescale removers is acceptable. Use in accordance of the cleaning products recommended guidelines, rinsing off well with plenty of water immediately after use. Please always leave the seat and cover up whenever strong cleaning products are left in the toilet bowl. Refer to toilet seat care instructions.
Do not put bleach products in the cistern - this can damage the internal fittings. Do not use blue loo products in cisterns as this can also damage the seals and fittings.
Never mix different cleaners in the WC - they can react to give off poisonous gases. Take care to avoid contact with metal on ceramic sanitaryware such as watches, razors etc. as this will cause metal marks.
Never leave strong cleaners or bleach in overnight or for long periods.
Chrome fittings (taps, seat hinges, showers, bath grips, shower enclosure frames and bath screens) Silk Black fittings including powder coated finish on enclosures, bath screens, accessories, taps & mixers, shower valves, kits & showering ancillary
Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale. Clean Chrome and Silk Black bathroom taps and showers clean with warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid - rinse well immediately and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Never use abrasive, scouring powders or scrapers.
Never leave strong cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia, hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid or organic solvents for a long period of time or overnight. Use of incorrect cleaning products / methods may result in surface damage, which is not covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee.
Avoid scratching the finish - scratches can be a source of corrosion.
Brushed Gold fittings (taps, showers)
Use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Do not use any cream cleaner or scourer.
Do not allow contact with any household chemicals or bleaches.
Never use any limescale remover/mousse, on or near the finish.
Avoid scratching the finish - scratches can be a source of corrosion.
PVD fittings and fixtures - Magnetic Grey, Silver Storm and Brushed Gold
Wooden WC seats
Use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water and dry with a clean soft cloth. Use furniture polish occasionally in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions. To retain the best quality finish, remove any spillage soon as possible.
After cleaning, leave the lid open to allow the seat to dry thoroughly to avoid any moisture build up. An application of light furniture polish on occasion will maintain a quality finish.
Never use bleach or bleach based, perfume or cleaners that contain colourants on seats or hinges. Lift up seat and ring if bleach is to be used on the seat and cover.
Plastic WC seats
Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale.
For both plastic and seat hinges, use warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and rinse immediately with plenty of water and dry with a clean soft cloth.

Furniture
Wipe bathroom furniture using a soft clean cloth, moistened with some warm water containing a few drops of washing up liquid and dry with a clean soft cloth. Wipe metal surfaces using a soft cloth moistened with some warm soapy water and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Use a clean soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner to clean stainless steel components. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth and then wipe the item. Please ensure efficient ventilation and extraction in the bathroom to maintain your furniture’s quality and appearance.
Furniture surfaces should not remain covered by pools of water or exposed to moisture for prolonged periods. Wipe the surfaces using a dry cloth. All surfaces have limited UV resistance. Constant exposure to UV radiation may result in discolouration. Avoid contact with abrasive, pointed or sharp objects. Remove chemicals such as hair tints, descaling agents, nail polish remover, perfumes, etc. from furniture surfaces immediately.
Do not use any abrasive or acidic cleaners or cleaning products containing solvents or grease. Always wipe dry. If you are using a cleaning product, check the label to make sure it is suitable for the material you intend to clean. Test the product in an inconspicuous place before using it for the first time. After each use, we recommend that you rinse off any soap marks and dry the surface carefully using a soft, clean cloth. This will help to preserve the glossy sheen of your Ideal Standard product and prevent water marks.
