Diamatec ® brass

Diamatec® Brass is our most advanced brassware engineering. Made possible by the development of a much stronger, corrosion-resistant zinc-copper alloy, Diamatec Brass enables Ideal Standard to create taps with optimal wall thickness, reducing raw material consumption without sacrificing durability. While many manufacturers are yet to begin using dezincification resistant (DZR) alloys, more than 90% of our fittings are now manufactured using Diamatec Brass. Ensuring the ultimate shower and bath experience, the PreciTherm ® thermostatic cartridge offers unrivalled levels of durability, safety and performance. Created to prevent potentially harmful fluctuations in water temperature, Ideal Standard’s intelligent engineering prevents sudden surges of hot or cold water from causing discomfort or, at worst, scalding. Rises or drops of up to 20°C are possible with non thermostatic mixer valves, when a toilet is flushed or a hot tap is run elsewhere in the building, for example. With PreciTherm ® , the maximum fluctuation is 1.5°C for up to two seconds before the temperature re balances.

BlueStart® technology enables significant energy savings as only cold water flows when the tap is used with the lever in the centred position.

Engineered for energy savings.

With standard taps most people turn on the water in the mid-lever position, resulting in a mix of hot and cold water. But very often warm water isn’t needed at all. Cold water is usually sufficient for washing hands, brushing teeth or cleaning. BlueStart® technology avoids this unnecessary warm water use, reduces energy consumption, lowers CO2 emissions and saves money.

BlueStart ® iX

BlueStart ® iX is the technology behind our leading edge iX tap ranges, which offer a smart two-in-one solution, by combining the energy saving benefits of our BlueStart® technology with the hygiene and water-saving features of a touchless tap. BlueStart ® iX offers significant energy savings as only cold water flows when the touchless function is used which is usually sufficient for brushing teeth, washing hands or cleaning. Additionally, it helps save water as the flow stops automatically as soon as the user removes their hands from the sensor detection area. This also reduces the need for cleaning and avoids the spread of germs by touching the tap with dirty hands. SOLOS IS PACKED WITH HIDDEN TECHNOLOGY THAT QUIETLY MAKES LIFE BETTER. HERE’S WHAT OUR SEQUENTIAL VALVE AND CAPACITIVE SENSOR DO FOR YOU

SEQUENTIAL VALVE A sequential valve creates a tap where turning a single handle or lever controls both water flow and temperature. They are simple to operate and are often used in taps for accessible bathrooms and washrooms. Here’s how they work: Turning to the right closes the valve and shuts off the water. Turning progressively to the left first delivers cold water, then warm water and fully to the left hot water. Please note: A special basin with small holes is needed for the Solos tap with the Ø20mm spout and Ø30mm handle.

CAPACITIVE SENSOR Capacitive sensors are not visible, unlike infrared sensors, offering opportunities for sleeker, more minimalist design. Here’s how it works: One electrode is attached to the spout and another to the wall under the basin. A thermostatic pre-mixer is installed on the angle valve to the wall. The sensor has three levels of sensitivity which can be adjusted after installing with the control button on the sensor box. Touchless detection starts and stops the water. Water starts to flow when the hand approaches the spout from any direction and stays on as long as the hands are within range.
